In 2008 the Victorian state Labor government passed extreme Abortion Law Reform Act 2008 (on which Queensland's Termination of Pregnancy Act 2018 was modelled) which legalised abortion up to birth for effectively any reason. This resulted in an annual average of 39% increase in late-term abortions. About 50% of which have been for what's termed as 'pyscho-social' reasons - so healthy babies of healthy mothers'.
2011 in Victoria, a healthy baby of a healthy mother was aborted for “psycho-social” reasons at over 37 weeks gestation – this is regarded as a full-term baby (refer p162).
In that same year, 10 healthy viable babies of healthy mothers between 28 and 31 weeks gestation also were aborted for “psycho-social” reasons in Victoria.
